Understanding Clay and 3D Craft
Combining pinch, coil and slab techniques to build more complex clay forms.
Core concept
Combining the pinch, coil, and slab methods allows us to build more complex forms, such as a pot with a coiled body, a pinched spout, and a slab-based base or lid.
How it works
Proper preparation of clay (kneading out air bubbles), controlled drying, and sometimes firing in a kiln are important steps for making clay craft pieces durable and long-lasting.
